THE CELLAR OF MICHEL BONNEFOND

For more than fifty years, Michel Bonnefond has been a wine enthusiast. In his cellar, he collected examples of all French wine production, from all regions, tirelessly scouring the vineyards for the best producers who were often, at the time, promising unknowns, but who have since become icons in the elaboration of the nectar of Bacchus.

With unparalleled generosity, he shared his passion with his friends and family, uncorking with delight his best vintages, from Burgundy to Bordeaux, from Alsace to Languedoc, from the Loire to the Côtes-du-Rhône, without forgetting Champagne.

This exceptional assemblage of such diverse wines, from all the post-war vintages, is now presented for sale and allows all wine lovers to access the rarest bottles as well as the simplest wines, always chosen with care and a sense of discovery. There are other remarkable cellars in France and in the world, but few that offer such an intelligence of the vineyard and such a diversity.

Stored in a natural cellar, with constant humidity, the wines have evolved wonderfully over time, and the labels bear witness to the quality of the conservation, with their imperfections, which have made them sometimes difficult to decipher, the mystery adding to the pleasure of the discovery.

At the same time, we will discover some bottles of his own vineyard in the Ruchottes-Chambertin appellation, which he had chosen to have vinified by Christophe Roumier, a confidential vintage that we can finally acquire during the sale.
