Officer's saber for light cavalry or hussars, German-style chased and gilded brass hilt, branch decorated with fillets and cut out in the middle with a flowery lozenge, oval mounts decorated with a grid pattern, right quillon finished with a lion's head, German-style cap engraved with fillets and foliage, leather-covered, filigree spindle; plain damascus blade, flat back marked: "Pierre Guillaume Knecht fabricant a Solingen", traces on the first third of gilded cabalistic signs, on one face; scabbard entirely in gilded brass with two bracelets of bélières, engraved with foliage, trophies of arms and, on the last third, scales, iron sting; length 97 cm. (Wear to gilding).
