Model 1878 "Kropatschek" centerfire marine rifle with 7-round tubular magazine; white polished barrel with flats and round barrel, thunder-punched and marked: "Str. 1879", numbered: "A. 10982", and signed between the grenadière and the capucine: "Fd Claudin Brevete Boulevart des Italiens, 38. Paris", length 72 cm, caliber 11 mm; breechblock marked: "MANUFACTURE DE WERNDL - Steyr - Autriche - MLE 1878 MARINE", breechblock numbered: "A 10982"; stamped, white polished iron fittings; walnut stock also numbered: "A 10982". Type 1874 bayonet, numbered: "3615", blade signed: "Mre de Steyr Mr de Werndl", with burnished scabbard to the same number. Circa 1879. Very good, near-new condition.
