Tirailleur percussion rifle model 1837, known as a "petite carabine" or "carabine à la Poncharra", octagonal then round barrel hallmarked: "C" and "P" in horizontal lozenges, crowned "D", "M R" and dated: "1838"; breech bearing a folding sight marked: "200 m", "250 m" and a notch around the chimney protection, breech tail marked: "150 m"; rear lock hallmarked and signed: "Mre Rle de Chatellerault"; brass hallmarked fittings, iron trigger guard and counterplate; well hallmarked walnut stock with label: "FEVRIER - G - 1838 - P", "M R" and a double: "C" crowned; iron ramrod; length 131 cm. Louis-Philippe period. Very good, near-new condition
