AIGUIERE AND BASIN in silver (950). - Aiguière: PARIS, 1750-1752 (letter-date K). Rocaille model with circular pedestal bordered with gadroons, the body encircled by a fillet molding on which rests the curved handle with foliate base surmounted by a gastropod. The upper part of the body is adorned with a second sinuous molding embracing the coat of arms engraved beneath the double shell of the spout. The lid, edged with gadroons, is curved and centers a fruit-shaped grip on a rocaille terrace. The thumb rest is topped by a shell. Coat of arms within an oval shield stamped with a marquis's crown and holding minor brothers on a laurel-wreathed entablature: fused argent and gules (Monaco family). Trace of soldering (restoration?) at the top of the handle, base recessed into the body, old crack restored at the bottom. Height: 22.5 cm - Weight: 918 g. - Basin: PARIS, Jean-Charles Duchesne (received master in 1767), 1787-1788 (Bernier hallmark / 87). Oval model with fillet contours and small three-lobed sides. Letter A engraved on the rim, probably later. Repolished, stains. Height: 6.8 cm - Length: 34.5 cm - Width: 22.7 cm - Weight: 736 g.
