Silver VERSEUSE (950). COUTANCES, silversmith of the GOUDELET dynasty, mid-18th century. Single tripod model with medallion-shaped feet and attachments, the body with a turned wooden side handle in a straight disc mantle, the plain spout encircled by a row of five fillets in the middle section and adorned with a double shell at the base. The scrolled thumb rest lid, domed at the rim, has a protrusion and flat terrace centered on a pinecone seed on a terrace of twisted leaves. Some dents and repairs to the rim of the lid. The feet are slightly recessed in the body and the thumb rest in the lid. Minor damage to the wooden handle. Marks: Goudelet goldsmith inscribed 3 times in the lid and traces under the body, boar's head on the edge of the body and on one foot. Height: 18 cm - Gross weight: 443 g.
