Important pair of lions forming a torch-holder in resinous wood carved in the round, gilded and lacquered "au naturel" or silvered, shown standing on their hind legs, mouths open and holding a horn at their side forming a light arm. Germany, 18th century ? They are presented on bases also in carved wood, gilded and lacquered in imitation of marble, with rocaille decoration. Height of the lions: 160 cm - Total height: 240 cm (Minor wear and restoration). Provenance : By family tradition, from Schönbrunn Palace.
