Hard porcelain rimmed dish with Kakiemon polychrome decoration of a flowering hedge with tree stump, hibiscus and paulownia flowers, and phoenix in the sky. Bears the initials HV in pink on the reverse, for the commissioning family: von Henieke.
18th century, circa 1730-1735 (minor wear).
D of dish: 33 cm
In this variant of the "flowering hedge", the rock is transformed into a stump and the hedge is smaller and eclipsed by the tree.
