CHINE, à décor Kakiemon - Lot 74
CHINE, à décor Kakiemon
Porcelain gadrooned bowl decorated in "Green Family" overglaze enamel with the "tiger and flowering hedge" motif. This version features a child in the center, surrounded by three tigers and a succession of three hedges from which bamboo and prunus flowers emerge.
Kangxi period (1662-1722), circa 1720 (a tiny chip at the edge and a small hair).
D : 25 cm
In this model, which was copied in Meissen in 1730, the feline is called "tiger with blue slippers", and is shown alone with a flowery hedge.
This piece shows that the Japanese Kakiemon style was also copied in China.
