Set comprising a British artillery officer's sabretache, with its giberne en suite in black morocco; the patelettes are entirely embroidered with gold, silver and velvet passementerie and adorned with a gilt brass barrel, below the large British arms in high relief; sabretache with two original lines, the third later; giberne band covered with gilt braid, gilt brass fittings; both pieces bear the motto, on a purple velvet background: "UBIQUE QUO FAS ET GLORIA DUCUNT". Attached is a sword belt with two brads and sword loops, with three loops for sabretache lines; gilded brass buckles, chased with the royal crown surmounted by a lion, the "S" is marked: "UBIQUE". Period, Great Britain, late 19th century. Very good condition.
