Beautiful officer's flintlock pistol, octagonal damascus barrel with tobacco-colored ribbon, slightly blunderbussed, decorated with a gold fillet at the breech and at the muzzle which carries an adjustable front sight, length 21.5 cm, caliber 13.5 mm hair rifled; breech engraved with foliage, equipped with a fixed frog; flat-body lock, engraved with a fillet around the rim and foliage at the rear, signed: "Perin à Poitiers", swan-neck hammer, scroll bassinet, pebble spring, adjustable trigger; cut-out and engraved iron fittings, decorated with foliage and a flowering urn, octagonal cap engraved en suite; walnut stock with short shaft, carved with foliage around the breech tail, finely checkered grip, small oval silver thumbpiece, counterplate side; overall length 35 cm. (Barrel probably reworked). Late First Empire period. Very good condition. PERIN, harquebusier in Poitiers, circa 1814/1825.
