Officer's flintlock pistol, octagonal barrel, slightly blunderbussed, blued steel, hallmarked on the upper side: "L C", two crossed palms and a small fleur-de-lys (Leclerc) and, on the left side: "A M" crowned (Saint-Étienne), upper side decorated with gold damascene, sides signed: "Duroux" and "Angoulême", gold fillet at the muzzle, silver front sight, length 19.2 cm, caliber 15.5 mm hair rifled; white polished breech tail bearing a two-leaf frog; flat-bodied lock signed: "Duroux Angoulême", swan-neck hammer, platinum-plated scroll bassinet, adjustable trigger tail; plain, cut-out iron fittings, lug trigger guard, oval cap; long-barreled, grained walnut stock, checkered grip; horn-tipped dewlap ramrod; overall length 34 cm. (Bleued; some oxidation on the barrel). First Empire period. Good condition. DUROUX, harquebusier in Angoulême, circa 1780/1810
