* Rare cavalry saber from the Imperial Honor Guard of the city of Lyon, guard modeled after that of the Imperial Guard's horse hunters, in single-branch brass, slightly lighter than that of the hunters, leather-covered fuse, filigree; curved blade with a hollow pan, hallmarked at the heel: "M" surmounted by a toothed wheel (J. J. Mouton, 1st controller, 1793, inspector until February 1809) and "L W" in an oval surrounded by pearls (B. P. C., Levavasseur, inspector from March 1798 to September 1803), signed on the back: "Mfture nale du Klingenthal Coulaux frères Entreprs"; scabbard very similar to that of the chasseurs de la garde, but a little lighter, in leather-covered wood with two large brass fittings and splints forming a crevé on each side, with two bracelets, cap marked on the front: "Garde D'honneur Lyonnaise", iron sting; length 102.5 cm. First Empire period. Very good, near-new condition.
