Collection du musée des Beaux-Arts d'Orléans, La Chapelle-sur-Erdre, 2009. The son of a former Sardinian consul who had settled in France, Triqueti began his career as a painter in Girodet's studio. From the early 1830s, he turned to neo-Gothic art and designed objets d'art. He quickly achieved success, and joined the ranks of artists such as Félicie de Fauveau and Antonin Moine, who renewed the link between sculpture and the decorative arts. This charming group is one of a series of small terracotta compositions on childhood and maternal love created by the artist.
