CHINE Porcelain oval planter or aquarium, on a pedestal decorated on the outer wall with gold water lily flowers on a cobalt blue ground framing phoenixes and pheasants against a background of flowery landscapes treated in famille rose enamels in cartouches. The handles feature Buddhist lions' heads in slight relief in iron red, with green manes, and the interior is decorated in famille rose enamels with carp framing a crab on a seaweed background surrounded by butterflies and flowers.
