A rare piece of "wedding" furniture in the form of a large chest attached to a three-drawer commode with crossbars; the rich marquetry decoration with superimposed cut-outs featuring olive-tree reserves with ebony stocks and ribboned branches, large acanthus-leaf clasps, flower-laden horns of plenty...the slightly domed lid reveals an interior reupholstered in paper with a coral background. Louis XIV period (cracks, missing parts and restorations; two locks missing; one foot to be refixed). H : 112 cm - W : 85 cm - D : 64 cm
