Stylet, guard entirely in iron, chiseled and pierced, flare representing four mythological characters, below two with man's torso and goat's legs, one of which probably Pan with his flute, they hold above them, by the feet, a man and a woman, supporting, above their head, a round object, square body knot decorated, on each side of a character's head in a medallion, quillons in the shape of Pan's legs ; blade with rectangular section at the heel, with two grooves, then with diamond section, almost square, length of the blade 20 cm; total length 31,5 cm. Period, Italy, 17th century. Good condition. PROVENANCE: Former CORBIN collection, castle of C., then by inheritance, BARJON collection. This dagger has kept its label of the CORBIN collection n° 74.
