- Thirteen manuscript pieces concerning the pages of the King, signed by the minister secretary of state M. le Duc de Vrillière, from 1771 to 1774. - Eleven printed pieces concerning the King's small stable and six handwritten pieces (in poor condition). - A small paperback, printed : "Etat des pages de la chambre du Roi, de la grande écurie de 1776 à 1788" and those of the petite écurie from 1773 to 1787. Louis XV period, early Louis XVI. Various states. Louis Phélypeaux de SAINT-FLORENTIN, Duc de la VRILLIÈRE, marquis in 1725, then Duc de la VRILLIÈRE, in 1770, born on August 18, 1705 † February 27, 1777. He became secretary of state for the so-called reformed religion, in 1725, succeeding his father; chancellor to the Queen in 1743; secretary of state for the King's household, from 1749 to 1775 (the death of King Louis XV having occurred on May 10, 1774); minister of state in 1761. After the dismissal of CHOISEUL, in 1770, he was briefly Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, from December 24, 1770 to June 6, 1771. He holds the record of ministerial longevity under Louis XV (half a century), until his replacement, in 1775, at the Secretary of State of the King's Household, by MALESHERBES. Chancellor and Keeper of the Seals of the Order of the Holy Spirit, from 1756 to 1770. Officer of the order of the Holy Spirit and knight of the order of Saint-Michel.
