Letters and patent of order of knighthood of Nicolas François de Nonancourt: - Appointment in the order of Saint-Louis, piece on vellum partly printed, headed by Louis Joseph de Bourbon Prince de Condé, Prince of blood, peer and grand master of France, colonel-general of the French and foreign infantry, Duke of Guise, etc., commander in chief, by the orders of the King, a division of the nobility and the French army. Certify that in execution of the King's orders, we have today conferred the royal and military order of Saint-Louis on Mr. Nicolas François de Bonnay de Nonancourt, lieutenant in the regiment of Rouergue. Done at our headquarters in Buhl on February 23, 1796, signed: "Louis Joseph de Bourbon". Dry stamp with the arms of France. - Three pieces concerning the wearing of the decoration of the Lily, one from the Ministry of War, Count Dupont Minister of State for War, dated July 14, 1814; another from the Chevalier de Lasalle, dated Paris July 11, 1814 and one from Monseigneur le Duc de Berry, dated Paris July 28, 1814. - Six pieces concerning the imperial order of Leopold of Austria given by the Emperor of Austria in Aix-la-Chapelle to Mr. Nicolas François Bonnay de Nonancourt, mayor of the city of Thann, on October 24, 1818, including the handwritten request of Nicolas François to King Louis XVIII for authorization to wear this cross in France and the letter of the Grand Chancellery of the Legion of Honor authorizing him to wear this cross dated December 24, 1818.
