Abbé de Champeaux, noble cavalry chaplain: "Manuel des guerriers émigrés à l'usage de l'armée de Condé - 1793", small work bound in calf of 142 pages; 13,5 x 8,5 cm; on page 85 is attached a small handwritten paper page with prayers, signed: "Pauline né de Nonancourt". Attached is the will of Louis XVI in a small frame; 94 x 66 mm. Late 18th century. Fairly good condition. CHAMPEAUX Edmé Georges, abbé de, born on January 24, 1761 in la Chaume (Côte d'Or), † on March 25, 1830 in Paris; he joined the Condé army and made all the campaigns of the emigration as a military chaplain (1791/1798): "Obliged to expatriate myself because of the refusal of oath required from the ecclesiastics, I went to (....) the army of Condé where the Prince charged me with the instruction of the young French emigrants, by joining to this function that of chaplain".
