Pair of Flintlock Pistols of Marine Officer or Sailor Officer of the Imperial Guard, chocolate-colored iron barrels, octagonal then round, bands extending to the ends, hallmarked to the thunders: "I L C" in an oval and signed in silver on the bands: "Duc à Paris", silver fixed stocks and sights, lights adorned with a silver pastille, calibre 17.5 mm; round-bodied locks, filleted and signed: "Duc Rue St-honoré à Paris", slightly engraved swan-necked hammers, silver-trimmed scroll basins; silver fittings, engraved on the front of the bridges with two crossed boarding axes and foliage on the rosettes of the counter-platines, the bridges chased with a roped anchor, oval cap nails adorned with a sea-horse and a trident; walnut stocks with short shafts, handles finely squared with checkerboard decoration; iron ramrods; length 32,5 cm. (These pistols have been reconditioned; barrels re-coloured; engravings: "Duc à Paris" probably taken back; the light of one of the barrels has been restored). Consulate, First Empire period. Good condition. I L C or J L C, it is probably the punch of the gunner Jean LECLERC.
