The Battle of Rocroy. In Paris, La Société des Bibliophiles François, 1899/1900. In-4°, midnight blue morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, double coat of arms in the centre, spine ribbed with coat of arms, gilt edges, ivory morocco lining with gilt fleurs de lys, blue silk endpapers, double endpapers, cover preserved (Chambolle-Duru) A frontispiece, a portrait, a header, a cul-de-lampe and six coloured etchings by Adolphe LALAUZE after watercolours by Alphonse LALAUZE. Issued in an edition of 144 copies, this one (n° 58), one of 104 on vélin du Marais including, unjustified, an additional suite of illustrations. From the library of "Son Altesse Royale Monseigneur le Comte de Paris Président d'honneur des Amis du Musée de Chantilly", with a large handwritten bookplate on the flyleaf (dated 10 October 1981). First spine rubbed, but A BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE, WELL BINDED, WITH THE ARMS OF MME DE LABORDE on the boards and of FRANCE, repeated on the back.
