H : 3,6 - W : 8 - D : 6 cm - Gross weight : 146,0 g History : A castle is mentioned in Armainvilliers (Seine-et-Marne) as early as the 14th century, which gave refuge to François I in 1544 after the capture of Château-Thierry by Charles-Quint. From that time onwards, it became the residence of the lords of Tournan and Gretz-Armainvilliers (the Beringhens in the 17th and 18th centuries: Jacques-Louis de Beringhen (1651-1723), the King's First Squire, was made Count of Armainvilliers in June 1704). In the 17th century, it belongs to the Beringhens, then to the Count of Eu and the Duke of Penthièvre, but it is partly destroyed during the Revolution. It was acquired in 1808 by the stockbroker Claude Bailliot. Under the Restoration, it returned to the property of the Dowager Duchess of Orleans. After her death in 1821, Louis-Philippe gave it to his sister Eugène-Adélaïde-Louise at the time of the 1822 partition. The La Rochefoucauld-Doudeauville restore it under the Second Empire, put back the woodwork of the castle of Bercy and develop the park. Sosthènes de La Rochefoucauld, 2nd Duke of Doudeauville, former aide-de-camp to King Charles X, died there in 1864. Acquired in 1877 by Edmond de Rothschild, the castle was completely razed and replaced by a modern residence, complete with luxurious guard pavilions, farmhouses in the Norman style, vast outbuildings, a large orangery, on the English model.
