DAISHO
Katana Blade with throat 73,5 cm, ubu, 1 mekugi-ana. Hardening line in Gunome. Signed: SHINANO DAIJO FUJI-WARA TADA-KUNI. Edo, early 19th century. Wakizashi Blade with throat 47 cm, ubu, 1 mekugi-ana. Gunome tempering line. Signed: NOBU-TAKA SAKU Edo, early 19th century (accident on the tip). Handachi mounts in suite. All the mounts are in Shakudo, with taka-zogan decoration of gold Paulownia (Kiri) flowers, on a nanako background (some flowers are missing). Both swords have a Kogai decorated with a saddle and a command staff (missing the kozuka on the wakizashi). All the menuki are in iroe-zogan, with a Samurai in armor motif. Tsuka braided in beige thread. Saya made of brown/red lacquered wood, with gold hira-maki decoration of Paulownia scrolls and flowers. Edo, 19th century.
