Large textile decorated with cordial elements, Egypt, probably Coptic period, 5th-7th century Linen fabric embroidered with two large blue bands and scattered diamond-shaped medallions, all decorated with cordial motifs arranged in pairs. One of the bands framed by two vegetal friezes of red palmettes. 43 x 26 cm As is. Some elements reattached on old canvas. Three small fragments, Egypt, Coptic or Islamic period, 5th-13th century, the first decorated with cordial elements in polychrome cotton threads embroidered on a linen core, 5.3 x 15.2 cm; the second with a silk-woven decoration of two birds framing a double palmette in pastel tones, 5.5 x 18.7 cm; the third, a medallion woven in linen and polychrome threads enclosing a scalloped vase, 8.5 x 6.3 cm.
