Standing figure The arms are separated from the torso by circular perforations made with drills. The forearms and hands rest on the stomach. The long legs have an indentation at the base that marks the location of the feet. The round head is set into the shoulders. The wide nose is in strong relief with pierced nostrils. The mouth and eyes are simply evoked by large grooves. Finally, the figure has a fluted headdress and its lobes are pierced. Grey-green alabaster with a brown patina. Chontal culture, Guerrero, Mexico, 350-100 B.C. H: 24,6 - W: 10 - D: 6 cm Provenance: Private collection, France. Acquired in 1974. A certificate of authenticity from "Transactions en valeurs d'art" of 1974 will be given to the buyer.
