Presumed portraits of General Bertrand and his wife Fanny Dillon Pair of rectangular miniatures on porcelain, in grisaille bordered with gold nets, signed at the bottom "Mme Le Roy", representing them in bust, in civilian clothes, on a cloudy sky background. Good condition. Parisian manufacture, circa 1810-1820, without apparent mark. In their original rectangular gilded wooden frames with palmettes at the corners. H : 13,5 - W : 10,5 and 11 cm Frames : H : 22 - W : 20 cm History : Henri-Gatien Bertrand (Châteauroux, 1773-1844), general of the First Empire, companion of Napoleon at Saint Helena. He married in 1808 Françoise-Elisabeth dite Fanny de Dillon (1785-1836), daughter of Count Arthur de Dillon, governor of Tobago and deputy of Martinique to the States General, and Marie-Françoise Laure de Girardin, Creole and distant relative of the Empress Josephine. This union was supported by the Emperor Napoleon and the Empress The couple had five children, the first of whom was named Napoleon.
