Chubac is the artist of absolute simplicity. But behind the sobriety of his work, a deep research is hidden which leads him on the roads of Egypt and Greece before the heights of Nice. It is there that for 50 years, he lived his poetry and built his geometries: Plexiglas, cardboard, strings, assembled to play with the sun's rays.

Very early on, close to the New Realism, Chubac remains inseparable from the great artists of Nice. When he arrived, Ben had just opened Laboratoire 32: he took part in the Scorbut exhibition with Gilli and Raysse. He then participated in all the exhibitions of the Ecole de Nice, including the Centre Pompidou in 1977. For a time, he was part of the Denise René Gallery, which promoted his modifiable sculptures. Chubac was also the first artist from the Ecole de Nice to exhibit in the United States. He did not make the trip, preferring to the noise of the world, the tranquility of his studio ...
