OEuvres .Paris, s. n. [Prault[, 1734. 6 volumes in-4°, speckled calf, triple gilt fillet framing the covers, spine with ornate nerves (foreign binding of the time). A frontispiece portrait engraved by LEPICIÉ after Charles COYPEL, a fleuron on the title, identical for each volume, 33 figures engraved by Laurent CARS after François BOUCHER and 198 bands, lettrines and caps, some repeated, by BOUCHER, BLONDEL and OPPENORD, engraved by JOULLAIN and CARS. From the libraries of John Maconchy and James Chaigneau Colvill, with ex-libris Joints cracked and sometimes split, the first of volumes II & VI almost completely; small accident to a foot cap; a few leaves slightly foxed and some foxing. "One of the most beautiful books of the first part of the eighteenth century", Boucher's masterpiece (Cohen, 712)
