Together 8 volumes in-12, orange morocco, triple gilt fillet framing the boards, spine gilt, gilt edges (L. Claessens). FIRST ILLUSTRATED EDITION of The Perverted Peasant & ORIGINAL EDITION of The Peasant Woman. - FOURTH EDITION AND FIRST TO CONTAIN FIGURES. - 82 plates, including eight title-frontispieces (the first two bearing the date 1781). - Includes a continuously paginated supplement entitled "Les Figures du Paysan perverti ]... & [Revue des ouvrages de l'auteur] (pp. I-CCXLIV + [12[ pp.), divided into four parts bound at the end of each volume. -- 38 plates, including eight title-frontispieces, all engraved after BINET (including the two figures 4 & 10 which "are missing in most copies"). -- Includes a continuously paginated supplement entitled "Les Figures de la Paysane pervertie" (pp. I-LXXII), divided into four parts bound at the end of each volume. The present copy is complete with the other supplement entitled "Table des noms des personages du Paysan & de la Paysane pervertis" (pp. 337-344) which is very rarely found.
