Tapestry with hunters and their dogs in the... - Lot 490 - Thierry de Maigret
Tapestry with hunters and their dogs in the style of the Royal Windsor tapestries, circa 1880, late 19th century. The Royal Windsor Manufactory (1876-1890) took up the themes of hunting and fishing in the 18th century tradition. Some weavings were made for the New York hotel of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Here this tapestry is inspired by the Lucas Months hanging woven at the Gobelins factory around 1730. Fragment surrounded by a blue braid, good condition, lined. H : 1,85 - L : 1,55 m
