H : 39,5 - L : 30 cm In moulded frames in grey marble, H : 54 - L : 43 cm By their materials and iconography, this pair of medallions is part of the Genoese production of the first half of the 18th century Indeed, the theme of the Annunciation was widely approached in the circle of sculptors trained near the Carrara marble quarries and who exported their art abroad, such as Giovanni Domenico Olivieri (1708-1762) and his busts in relief of the Virgin Mary and the Archangel Gabriel (Spain, Madrid, museo Academia Colecciones, n°inv. E-048 and E-034).
