Portrait of the Emperor Napoleon I Oval miniature painted on ivory, monogrammed on the right J.G., representing the Emperor in a three-quarter bust on the right against a background of cloudy skies, in the uniform of Colonel of the Chasseurs à cheval of the Imperial Guard, wearing his cross and his plaque of the Order of the Legion of Honour. Uses. In an oval gilt bronze and red velvet frame surmounted by a ribboned bow. Bears on the back an inventory label n°73. Miniature: H: 3.3 cm - L: 2.2 cm Frame: H: 8.5 cm - L: 6 cm This miniature is certainly the one missing from the frame presenting the miniatures of Josephine and Marie-Louise (see previous lot).
