HÉRON DE VILLEFOSSE (René).
La Rivière enchantée. In Paris, Bernard Klein, Publisher, n.d. [1951]. Small folio, turquoise morocco, flats and smooth spine entirely decorated with a repeated pattern of gilt and palladium fillets in volutes, gilt edges on witnesses, orange morocco lining, royal blue moire guards, turquoise half morocco shirt with small overlaps and case decorated with a copper insert of the book, illustrated cover preserved (Semet & Plumelle). 27 etchings by FOUJITA: one on the cover, a portrait of the author, a self-portrait, two lettering and 22 off-text, ten in colour, one in monochrome, five colour-enhanced and six in black. From a print run of 315 copies, this one (no. 25), ONE OF THE 25 HEADS on NACRED JAPAN including an original drawing (here in deficit), ONE COPPER (the one in the illustration facing page. 34: "La Place Beauvau"), an original etching on china and two additional suites, one in black on china and one in black and colour on imperial japan. Back of the shirt is faded and the original drawing is in deficit, but VERY NICE EXAMPLE of the HEAD DRAWING on JAPAN of ONE OF THE BEST WORKS of FOUJITA.
