Nicol, 1802. 9 volumes in-folio, long-grained garnet morocco, double fillet framing and fine gold-plated serrated castors decorating the plates, ornate ribbed spine, gilt edges (contemporary English binding). A frontispiece, two portraits of the author (one bust and the other allegorical) and 96 other plates engraved on copper after the main artists of the time. Some blunt edges and corners; some rubbed plates; freckles and discharges, these sometimes strong; a partially torn leaf without missing in volume II?; a double leaf unbound at the beginning of volume IX, but BEAUTIFUL EXAMPLE in ORNAMENTAL MAROQUIN of the BEST EDITION of Shakespeare's works.
