[HOLBEIN - MÉCHEL]. The Triumph of Death engraved after the original drawings of Holbein by Chrétien de Méchel engraver in Bale. S. l., 1780 [sic for Paris, 1854]. In-8° square, midnight blue grief with metal clasps, the fasteners of which serve as ornamentation for the plates, spine with nerves decorated with gilt skulls, the nerves cold scratching on the plates, blue edges decorated with a seed of gilt skulls (binding of the period). 47 copper-engraved plates, including a frontispiece and a double in fine, each accompanied by its explanatory text opposite. From the Émile Sénart library, with wet-stamp ex-libris on the title. A few small freckles.
