Tapestry depicting a rural scene, in the style of the History of Daphnis and Chloé, after Etienne Jeaurat (1699-1789), Royal Aubusson factory, circa 1750, end of 18th century.
H: 2.28 m - L: 4.15 m
These same subjects were first woven at the Gobelins factory.
A similar tapestry was kept in the Bernheimer collection (Munich). Another very similar one woven in Aubusson is kept at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London.
