Violin player and villager in a tavern Oil on board. Oak. Document: On the reverse side of the panel is glued a handwritten certificate in pen and brown ink written in English by Cornelis Hofstede de Groot (1863-1930) dated 1922 which attributes the work to the Dutch School, circa 1625-1630, and adds "very likely as a picture by Adriaen Brouwer". Carved and gilded wooden frame with a flower motif.
