A patinated, chased and gilded bronze "À l'étude" clock, decorated with a female figure dressed in antique style, leaning with a rooster over books, flanking a fluted column on which rests the case adorned with laurel leaves and the terrace decorated with stylised Greek motifs. Signatures of watchmaker François VIGER and bronze-maker Jean-Joseph de SAINT-GERMAIN, circa 1765.
