Rare glazed terracotta medallion representing the profile of King Louis XII on a blue enamelled fleur-de-lys background framed by an inscription "Felice Ludavico regnat duodecim cesare altero gaudomnis nacio" on a beige background, after a bronze medal model by Nicolas Le Clerc and Jean de Saint Piest. Late 16th - early 17th century. Diam: 10 cm Louis XII of the Valois dynasty (1462-1515) nicknamed the Father of the People and King of France from 1498 to 1515. Thanks to Philippe Boucaud for his confirmation of attribution to this production center.
