Light cavalry officer's sword model known as "the scouts of the imperial guard", guard with a brass branch, crossed with two mumps decorated with a medallion containing a six-pointed star, flat branch engraved with nets, decorated with an attached snake, octagonal cap with melon ribs finished with a fleuron, fluted ebony fuse; curved blade engraved, gilded and blued at the third, signed at the heel: "S & K"; brass sheath with two straps of hinges bordered with a net; length 101 cm. First Empire period. Very good condition Reference Christian ARIÈS: French military edged weapons, fascicule XXIV, 1977. This guard model was also used by the honorary guard of the city of Leuven.
